Memphis firefighter death  A Memphis firefighter was killed, three firefighters and a civilian were injured in a crash Wednesday night in South Memphis.

The crash happened just after 8pm at the intersection of EH Crump Boulevard and Wellington.

Memphis firefighter dies Four Memphis firefighters and one citizen were taken to the hospital after a crash in South Memphis Wednesday night, where one firefighter later died due to injuries caused by the accident, according to a statement released by the City of Memphis.

Memphis Fire Department confirmed that the three firefighters who were hospitalized have been released. The civilian’s current condition is unknown. The civilian was last said to be in critical condition.

Memphis police said a MFD fire engine was involved in a crash with a truck at Danny Thomas Boulevard and E.H. Crump Boulevard at 8:19 p.m.

City of Memphis said that it would continue to keep everyone updated about the condition of the victims involved in the accident.

Many continue to send their support and condolences.

The fire department was responding to a blaze in the 500 block of Cambridge Avenue when an MFD truck was involved in the crash, according to the City of Memphis.

Four firefighters were transported to a Regional Trauma unit, but one firefighter did not recover from his injuries, the city said.

Four other victims, including one civilian, remain hospitalized.
